Data we collect and why

Browsing the site

Our host records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, time) to keep the site secure and working. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Analytics

We use Google Site Kit to see, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how people find us. Legal basis: legitimate interest, and consent where cookies are involved.

Contact form

When you write to us we receive your name, email address, the topic, any business name and your message, and use them to reply. Legal basis: steps you ask us to take, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

Listing requests and advertisers

If you ask us to list, update or feature a business, we keep the business details and your contact details so we can manage the listing and invoice any paid service. Legal basis: contract and legal obligations.

Buying the recipe book

For orders we process your name, email address, billing country and order details to deliver the download, issue an invoice and meet tax rules. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. Legal basis: contract and legal obligations.

Spam protection

Our forms use hidden spam checks that do not track you.

Businesses listed in the directory

Listings contain business information (name, address, phone, email, website) taken from the business itself or public sources such as its official website. Where a listing names a person, we rely on our legitimate interest in providing a useful public directory. Owners can ask us at any time to correct or remove a listing.

Who receives the data

• Hostinger (web hosting and email), EU servers.
• Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, Ireland (payment processing for the recipe book).
• Google (Site Kit / Analytics, Google Maps embeds on listing pages, Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when fonts load).
• OpenStreetMap (map tiles on the olive map and region pages, which receive your IP address).
• Our accountants, banks and public authorities where needed for invoices, payments or legal requirements.

We do not sell personal data.

Transfers outside the EU

Some providers, such as Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, the transfer relies on an adequacy decision (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

Contact messages: up to 2 years. Orders and invoices: as long as Bulgarian accounting and tax law requires (currently up to 10 years). Server logs: a short period set by our host. Listing data: while the listing is published, and for a reasonable time after removal for our records.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest or withdraw consent at any time. Email info@greeceolives.com; we reply within one month.

You can also complain to the Bulgarian supervisory authority, the Commission for Personal Data Protection (КЗЛД), 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd, 1592 Sofia, www.cpdp.bg, or to the authority in your country.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, admin access is restricted, and payments are handled by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Children

The site is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
