About Liotrivi Historic Estate
Liotrivi is a former Ritsos family country house in Velies, near Monemvasia in Laconia. It was converted into an olive oil mill in 1930 and operated until the 1960s, and the original machinery is still preserved. Today the estate also runs as a boutique hotel.
The old mill now holds a small olive oil museum explaining traditional production. Entry is free and guided tours are offered in English. The estate hosts tastings of olive oil and local products and sells its own extra virgin olive oil, so a visit can easily combine history with buying a bottle.
