About Mavroudis Olive Oil Museum & Mill (Olive Oil Corfu)
The Mavroudis family runs this olive oil museum and mill in Vraganiotika, in the south of Corfu. Their groves hold about 2,000 trees, mostly the island's Lianolia Kerkyras variety, and some of them are said to be up to 700 years old. The modern mill dates from the early 1990s, and beside it stands a stone-built museum displaying old millstones, a wooden screw press and donkey-driven equipment from earlier times.
Guided tours run Monday to Saturday and finish with a tasting of the family's oil on local bread. The shop sells extra virgin and infused olive oils, olives and olive pâté, along with soaps and items carved from olive wood, which makes it a good stop for gifts as well as oil.
